Dandy Doodlez - How it Works
Dandy Doodlez - A paint your own pottery studio
How it Works
Dandy Doodlez is Starkville's original paint your own pottery studio. We provide everything you need to create a unique piece of artwork in a fun, friendly atmosphere.

No reservation is necessary to paint in the studio during normal business hours.  We stop seating painters one hour prior to closing time.

1.Pick your piece:
We have hundreds of pieces of unfinished pottery(bisque) including dinner plates and serveware, home and garden decor, money banks, boxes, figurines, and so much more! Prices start at $5 and go to $65 and up. The cost of your item covers all of your paint, supplies, glazing and firing. There are no surprise paint or studio fees!

2. Plan your design
You can plan your design with washable markers before you paint. All marks will burn off in our kiln. We have tons of idea books and painted samples for inspiration. We also have many stencils, stamps and sponges to help you out!  If you want to learn a new technique, just ask one of the Doodlez girls and we'll be glad to show you something new!

3. Choose your colors
We have over 40 different paint colors to choose from, and over 20 different pottery glazes.

4. Leave your pottery with us for firing
When you are finished painting your piece, just leave it on the table along with your ticket, and you are good to go. We'll dip your piece in a clear glaze and load it into one of our kilns to be fired.

5. Pick up your finished piece
Within 5 to 7 days, your piece will be fired and ready for pickup.  Once fired, your piece will have a beautiful shine and will be food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

*During very busy times, such as Spring Break and around Thanksgiving and Christmas, it may take up to 10 days for your pottery to be ready.

We offer tons of cool projects in our store- ask us for a new painting technique next time you're in, sign up for a silver clay or glass fusing class, or even bring us your glass bottles (bottles with painted labels are especially beautiful!) to slump into a spoonrest or cheese tray for you!
